Job Description:

 Position Summary
The Patent Attorney is primarily responsible for preparing and prosecuting patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Additional duties include: assisting business clients to document inventions, and counseling clients on the patentability of inventions.

Key Areas of Responsibility
Prepare U.S. patent applications.
Prepare amendments, appeals, and other responses to USPTO Office Actions.
Work with business clients to document inventions.
Counsel clients on the patentability of inventions.
Conduct client training sessions.
Attend client meetings directed to reviewing inventions for possible filing as patent applications.

Basic Requirements
J.D. degree and license to practice law in at least one recognized jurisdiction within the United States.
Admitted to practice patent law before the USPTO.
Minimum of five years experience in preparation and prosecution of patent applications.

Preferred Requirements
B.S. degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering.
