The incumbent performs daily docket functions in connection with the monitoring and maintenance of the Company's world-wide patent portfolio, which includes but is not limited to all domestic and foreign patents and patent applications, from invention submission through patent expiration.
Primary responsibilities include daily processing of incoming and outgoing correspondence (including correspondence with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO), foreign patent offices, foreign associates and outside counsel), utilize docketing software to manage filing, prosecution, and maintenance of world-wide patent portfolio, preparation and validation of patent docket reports, ensuring that all docket entries are accurate and deadlines are met, monitoring the status of patents and patent applications, and administrative tasks related to the maintenance of the Docket Area. Incumbent must possess excellent proofreading and analytical skills in order to accurately manage patent assets in accordance with applicable US, PCT, and foreign law and procedure, making appropriate recommendations for work processes as needed.


Education: High school diploma or equilavent is required Bachelor/'s degree or paralegal certification preferred Required: A minimum of one year of working experience Must possess a working knowledge of Intellectual Property (IP) docketing software Additional skills are knowledge of domestic and foreign patent prosecution docketing, understanding of patent terminology and filing procedures including both US and foreign matters, and knowledge and understanding of current USPTO rules and procedures Working knowledge of Microsoft products Excellent communication, organizational and teamwork skills Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in a high-volume work area Time management, prioritization and attention to detail Ability to interact with personnel at all levels, exhibiting tact, good judgment, and discretion Flexible, organized, and efficient Preferred: Patent experience Experience with IPMaster / IPManager (Intellectual Property data management software)
