Codexis is currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our legal team as a Patent Administrator.

Codexis Inc. is a clean technology company. The company develops industrial biocatalysts, including enzymes and microbes. Codexis technology is used in the energy industry to enable next generation, non-food biofuels and by global pharmaceutical companies for cost-effective manufacturing of human therapeutics. The Patent Administrator will report to the Vice President of Intellectual Property.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide administrative support to Codexis Intellectual Property Attorneys
File patent applications, patent prosecution documents and formal documents with the USPTO.
Obtain signatures for patent prosecution documents (e.g., Assignments, Declarations, Power of Attorney, etc.). .
Interface with outside law firms both domestic and foreign.
Assist with special patent and trademark projects and reports.
Routine administrative duties.
Maintain knowledge of USPTO procedural rules.
 

 REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 4+ years experience as a Patent Administrator.
Proficient in MS OFFICE including Outlook, Word and Excel.
Experience with patent docketing systems (CPI, IP Master, Alecto, or preferably with Foundation IP).
Knowledge and experience with Electronic Filing (EFS), PAIR, the USPTO website and EPO website.
Ability to effectively prioritize work assignments.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Good communication skills, both oral and written.
Some experience with patent searching would be a plus.
