Job Description:

Noro IP has an immediate need for experienced patent and scientific analysts in all fields of technology to join our Patent Research Division. The successful candidates will join a global team of information professionals responsible for conducting comprehensive search and analysis of technical information in support of our research activities, patent applications, prosecution cases and business development activities. Primary responsibility will be providing search and analyses to support patentability, prior art, freedom to operate, infringement and validity analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct patent search and analysis, resulting in the delivery of timely, value added search reports, based on established protocols
• Create and maintain a strategic partnership with key clients
• Conduct search and analysis to support patent landscape activities 
• Participate in and lead projects to improve our Search and Analytics team's services and products
Necessary Experience:

•  At least a BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physical Science, LIfe Science, Chemistry, Medical Devices or related scientific field
• 2+ years of relevant searching experience
• Experience using online patent databases (e.g. Micropat, Google Patent, LexisNexis, CAS Registry/CA Plus, Geneseq, World Patent Index), Internet resources, specialized information tools (e.g. STN express, BLAST) and patent classification systems (e.g. PCT/US Class codes)
• Demonstrate proficiency in conducting comprehensive and focused patent searches (e.g. patentability, freedom to operate, validity and patent expiry)
• Strong customer-service focus to build and sustain good working partnerships with key clients
• Effective analytical, presentation and communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Flexible with excellent attention to detail
