Job Description:

Currently we are seeking Patent Classifiers (specializing in Electrical Engineering, Physics and Chemical Engineering) for a project with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO).

This is a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates or retired professionals, to immediately step into a position and use skills related to their field. This is a full-time position with salary and benefits that begins ASAP and will offer stability and challenge for the right candidates

This position will begin immediately and is on a recently awarded 10-year project for the USPTO. You will be tasked with reviewing patent applications and using your education/experience to route the applications to the appropriate classification category. You will utilize an automated classification solution developed specifically for this purpose after receiving full training on both the system and the process. Patent Classifier Job Description

The Patent Classifier will use an automated classification solution, the internet and academic knowledge as well as experience to classify patent applications sent to the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) by the general public to register their inventions.


Anticipated Salary for Patent Classifiers

The anticipated starting salary for Patent Classifiers will be $30,000 to $35,000, depending on experience. Please list your salary requirement and availability to begin, on your resume or cover letter when responding.

Necessary Experience:

 Patent Classifier Candidate Requirements

In order to perform the requirements, the subcontractors are requested to provide candidates to fill the Patent Classifier positions given consideration for the following:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, physics or chemistry
Demonstrated experience performing research and analysis is desirable
Demonstrated ability to learn and perform complex processing operations
Meticulous attention to detail
Ability to use automated systems and the internet to perform electronic operations
Ability to be a team player; good interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated experience in meeting deadlines
Good problem solving skills
