Responsibilities :
To work as a member of the US Patent Formalities Group to support 10 US patent attorneys. The formalities group is responsible for filing patent applications and related documents in the US Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO), including Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) applications. The position includes drafting supporting documents and obtaining necessary signatures from inventors. Completed actions are updated in the patent docketing database and all documents are stored in an electronic document management system.

Requirements :
Must be a U.S. Citizen, or hold a valid work visa that does not require sponsorship in order to legally work full-time in the United States Must have a HS diploma or GED Must be proficient in Outlook, Word, and be prepared to learn customized patent docketing database and electronic document management system

The ideal candidate; 

- Would have at least 2 years of patent prosecution experience
- Would be familiar with the PTO procedures. Familiarity with PCT procedures is a plus
- Would have experience filing applications electronically
- Should be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with the ability to prioritize
- Should be detailed oriented and be able to work independently
- Should have good communication and organizational skills
- Should have a positive attitude and be a team player
