Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Meet with engineers on a regular basis to obtain and write technical disclosures in a format for submission as an intellectual property application (patents or copyrights), a White Paper, or other internal/external document which captures the works of the engineers. Coordinate, arrange, and conduct disclosure meetings with engineers and other staff. Meet and communicate with legal counsel (internal and external) on a regular basis to assist with the filing of patent applications and procuring patents.
Maintain an updated inventory and status report of technical documentation, engineering disclosures and related writings.

Create, edit, and maintain documentation for presentations (incl. use of PowerPoint), status reports, internal/external periodic reporting submissions, and other documentation as requested by legal counsel.
Keep abreast of current technical developments, products, and technologies in the computer storage & memory field and maintain documentation on the foregoing. Review company and third party patents and patent applications, comprehend the content of the patents, the technology disclosed therein, and ascertain the differences between various technologies.
Research and evaluate new documentation tools and methods, and improve documentation processes.
Maintain a constant passion to learn how things work, the ability to understand complex technology and to articulate this understanding. Utilize excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein and as requested by legal counsel from time to time.

 

Necessary Experience:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a BS or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Technical Communications, Computer Science or a related field.
Experience:
Work requires a minimum of one to three years writing experience in a technical field with an emphasis on technical documentation. Prefer that the experience be in the field of computer technology and computer components.
LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, write and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and emails in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to internal customers and other employees of the organization.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
