Job Description:
Candidate will be assigned to the Johns Hopkins Technology Transfer (JHTT) office and be responsible for conducting IP legal aspects of JHU’s intellectual property assigned to the candidate. The vast majority of the IP responsibilities are patent-related primarily in the area of patent preparation and prosecution. J.D. degree required. Bachelor’s degree with Master or Doctoral degree strongly preferred. Education and training in the Physical Sciences or Engineering with a degree in Biomedical Engineering or closely related discipline desired.

Experience:
Minimum 4 years of experience preparing and prosecuting domestic and international patent applications and providing patentability, validity, infringement and inventorship assessments with a law firm, federal agency or corporation. Some intellectual property licensing experience would be desirable. Candidates that meet this threshold of experience by including work within a law firm or corporate IP legal department prior to or while attending law school will be considered.

Certification:
Must be registered to practice before the USPTO. Membership in good standing in a state (D.C. included) bar required (MD preferred).
