 We’re looking for a Patent Agent to join our intellectual property team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist attorney(s) in drafting and editing documents within area of responsibility (e.g. notice of missing parts, information disclosure statements, transmittal forms, electronic filings in the U.S.P.T.O. and PCT Office, instruction correspondence to foreign associates).
• Monitor and participate in maintaining databases in area of responsibility, such as the IP docketing system, government contract patent filing tracking databases, and other electronic and manual records to comply with patent filing requirements.
• Carry out in-house prosecution and manage the prosecution efforts of outside counsel.
• Provide interface and support between R&D and IP legal group.
• Initiate and interpret patentability searches.
• Prepare analyses of patents in regard to infringement and validity.
• Collect and maintain data relating to the competitive patent landscape.
• Counsel and train internal engineers on intellectual property issues.
• Supporting the preparation and filing of patent applications.

 Education, Experience, and Qualifications
• Bachelors degree in a Science or Enginering discipline. Advanced technical Degree preferred.
• Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
• Proficiency in patent docketing systems. Working knowledge of Foundation IP is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and outlook) is essential.
• Motivated and proactive self starter with a demonstrated ability to work efficiently with teams under minimal supervision.
• Strong knowledge of patent prosecution rules.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment, adapt to rapidly changing priorities, manage heavy workflow, set priorities and deliver results.
• Ability to promote positive cooperation and clear communication within IP team and with internal clients.
