| Job Description: | Intellectual property transactional associate sought for New York City law firm. 3 to 5 years of large law firm experience required. Outsourcing and privacy experience is ideal. This mid-sized New York law firm offers competitive salaries and has become one of New York's leading law firms practicing in corporate, tax and entertainment law. Attorneys in the New York office have one of the premier theatre practices in the country, representing producers, playwrights, directors and designers, as well as theatre owners, motion picture studios, licensing organizations, theatrical agents, not-for-profit theatres, and investors, with respect to Broadway, Off-Broadway, Las Vegas, regional, touring and foreign productions. These practitioners provide all of the legal services required with respect to theatrical productions, including securities financing, copyright, counseling and in-depth knowledge of the financial structures in the live stage industry. Associates are groomed from the beginning to accept responsibility for client service and are given the opportunity early on to deal directly with clients and outside counsel. Associates are encouraged to form personal working relationships with clients and are expected to take the lead on their own assignments. Teamwork among the different practice groups and among the attorneys has been crucial to their continued success, for they have continued to provide an excellent working environment that encourages close cooperation and camaraderie. One or more partners in each department works directly with an associate to provide both guidance and supervision. Independence is encouraged, yet responsibility is balanced with support. Mentors are also provided to help junior associates with hands-on training. In addition to actual on-the-job training, an associate's work experience is supplemented by an ongoing in-house continuing legal education program and off-site training seminars.
