The role: Patent Docketing Clerk

As a Patent Docketing Clerk, you will be called on to perform a wide variety of critical support and administrative tasks. You are a detail-oriented person capable of processing/ tracking large quantities of information. Your primary responsibilities will include docketing all relevant incoming information and dates for patent prosecution matters. You will work collaboratively with the Google patent team under the supervision of Google attorneys within a fast-paced legal department and company.

Responsibilities: Maintain the docketing database for all US and foreign patent prosecution matters [foreign experience preferred] and assist with docketing of third party matters Assist the patent team with basic administrative tasks as needed: mailing materials, maintaining miscellaneous files, etc. Respond to internal and external customers inquiries by email Prepare docket reports for the patent group Maintain and update the various patent files (electronic and paper) Requirements: B.A. degree or equivalent experience with excellent academic credentials At least 4 years of experience with complex docketing database programs Knowledge of patent prosecution rules, deadlines and procedures (US and foreign) Able to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure Excellent analytical skills, with a strong ability to review and organize numerous documents in complex legal matters Sense of humor and commitment to professionalism are required
