We currently have the following opportunity for a Technology Manager for Intellectual Property (IP) available in the Driveline Lubricants group at our Wickliffe, OH location: 

• Work with the Commercial, Technical and Legal teams to develop and implement an IP strategy that will improve sustainable competitive advantage 
• Function as liaison between Commercial, Technical, and Legal teams to identify, prioritize and support patent procurement, patent maintenance and patent defense activities. 
• Maintain competitive patent awareness including maintaining, reviewing and documenting competitive IP. Report findings to appropriate IP, Technology and Commercial teams. 
• Ensure that the business can operate without being encumbered by external IP by identifying non-infringement areas, or supporting the Legal team in identifying prior art for invalidity opinions or patent oppositions. 
• Work with Legal team to raise awareness of IP and legal issues such as secrecy agreements, copyrights, patents, etc. 

• Master’s degree in Chemistry or related technical discipline 
• Minimum 2 years experience working in the chemical industry 
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint 
• Analytical ability 
• Effective written and verbal communication skills 
• Ability to handle multiple projects and demands 
• Interest in patents and patent processes 

• Ph.D. in Chemistry or related technical discipline 
• Experience with Organic Chemistry 
• Knowledge of patents and patent processes 
• R&D experience 

SALARY RANGE: $58,000 TO $95,000
