Position Description
Patent Agent/ Intellectual Property Manager


Collect and Evaluate invention disclosures for software and mechanical inventions, and perform inventor interviews and preliminary prior art searching. Review and supervise outside counsel in preparation and prosecution of patent applications. Manage searching, legal clearance, prosecution, and maintenance for company trademarks, under the supervision of the Chief IP Counsel. Other responsibilities, depending on experience and capabilities of candidate, could include management of applications to register copyright and administration of invention incentive programs.

Necessary Experience:

Minimum Requirements

5+ years experience in intellectual property practice, either in law firm setting or in-house law department. Technical skill and familiarity with software development is required.


Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and IP Management Systems. Candidate must be well organized, self motivated, and have excellent written and oral communications skills.



Ability to travel occasionally and work independently required.



Bachelor's degree required. Applicant must have degree in a computer-related field, or must possess demonstrated equivalent knowledge and experience.
