Job Description

Prepare, file, and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications; manage large patent portfolios; conduct due diligence and freedom-to-operate assessments, including infringement, validity and patentability analysis; provide patent advice and counsel clients, including senior management; develop and implement IP strategies; prepare agreements and support and/or manage IP aspects of research/commercial collaborations. This position is located in Columbus, Ohio.

Necessary Experience:

This position will be filled at an appropriate level dependent on experience. Requirements include a minimum of 3 years of experience as a patent attorney primarily engaged in patent preparation and prosecution, preferably in the nutrition area; JD and USPTO registrations in good standing; excellent oral and written communication skills; and a working knowledge of patent laws in major countries. A degree in food science or nutrition is preferred, and/or 5-6 years experience in the food/nutrition field.
